I was out of town the past two weekends, so no shows broadcast. I will be in town this weekend, so catch the show on air.
Also, I have a couple DJ gigs:
Tonight, June 24th at Dub Sounds, held at Dodge City on U Street NW, in DC, alongside Bill Fold and Phil Real, playing dubstep, and maybe some future garage & UK funky.
Sunday, July 4th at Founding Fathers, held at Ultra Bar on F Street NW, in DC, playing drum’n’bass and maybe a touch of dubstep. Headliners include Ed Rush & Optical, Datsik, Frankie Bones and a few others, plus a lot of local talent, spread over four rooms.
The first hour of the show is a mixed bag of slower tempo tunes, and the second half of the show goes in on tech house & future garage mainly. If you like the show, please forward to friends and join our fan page on Facebook: www.facebook.com/breakthescience.

And next Saturday, I (as Harry Ransom) will be DJing at the 12th Annual Starscape Festival in Baltimore, MD on the Nudashank stage. Set times have not been announced, but if you are planning to go to the festival, try and find me & say “hi!” I should have a new mix CD to give away at Starscape, so make sure you ask for one.
First episode of the new radio show is live tonight from 9PM to 12AM Eastern Time, so if you need some background noise during Lost or anything else you’re doing tonight, tune in live via www.wmuc.umd.edu and drop me a message on AIM or gchat: breakthescience
Just a taste of where I come from as a music fan & collector.
"Most of the tracks on it were requested by my friend Todd, a buddy of mine from college that used to go to a lot of drum’n’bass events with me, and even traveled to SF a few times when I went out there to play some gigs & hang out. And then I picked out a couple other older tunes that I thought he might have dug or just forgot about, and stitched it all together"
EXBC Podcast #235: Harry Ransom - Gunsound Volume One (May 2010)
Just like I stated on the EXBC blog, put this together about a week ago for an old buddy of mine. Kind of no frills with the mixing, let stuff play long so he could hear it, rather than try to hype things up with faster & shorter mixes. Probably going to do more sets like this for fun.
Starting on Sunday, May 23rd and broadcasting (hopefully) every Sunday night from 9PM to 12AM Eastern Time through the end of August 2010, Break The Science will be an eclectic DJ mix show featuring a wide range of dance music, mainly focused on bass heavy styles such as drum’n’bass, dubstep, future garage and going in to some house territory.
Hosted by Harry Ransom (links: r4ns0m.tumblr.com / twitter.com/r4ns0m / facebook.com/ransomdj / mixcloud.com/r4ns0m), the show will serve as an outlet to play whatever meets the mood of the session. Shows will be archived and available for download, plus set lists will be posted on the blog.
The blog will occasionally feature local Washington, DC event information and the occasional download. For our first post, we bring you two edits from friends of the show:
